Wonderful tribute. As we say in the Jewish faith, may his memory be for a blessing

Thank you. His memory certainly is a blessing and I seem to find gentle reminders often if I pay attention.

Jim, you and Nikki have both paid tribute to your siblings in a tender and loving way. How blessed you were to have them in your lives, leaving you with beautiful memories.

It was great running into Nikki from CA by chance in our Storytime Substack class. She focuses on grief (many types) and its effects on life, and through our connection we learned we had both lost a sibling due to death.

I appreciate your kind comments.

Jim, I don’t know why it took me so long to read this, but what a beautifully written remembrance. God bless your brother and your family.

Great piece. Great brothers, both.

Thanks for reading. After my brother went on disability from serving as a pastor due to his MS, he continued in ministry as a wedding officiant. He liked to tell stories about the interesting couples he met.

I also lost my adult brother. It is an empty, lonely feeling. Thanks for writing

You have quite a lot to process on there and you have expressed it beautifully for us to be along with you. I imagine him on the jet ski and motorcycle too and I didn't even know him, except now through you. He seems like quite an awesome amazing human. I love the hymns and how he remembered them in his chicken scratch writings. So beautiful all the way around

Thanks for sharing him with us.
